Mother of Mercy House – Gift Card Donations Needed

“Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will reward them for what they have done”.” – Proverbs 19:17

MOTHER OF MERCY HOUSE

The effects of the coronavirus (COVID-19) has impacted on everyone.  It has especially affected the homeless.  Since all Masses have been cancelled there is no way to get food donations from our parish to the people we have been supporting through the Mother of Mercy House.

In an effort to assist with this problem, and in keeping with social distancing, it has been requested that we provide Giant grocery store gift cards and/or checks (payable to:  Mother of Mercy House).  Your donation need only be in the amount that you would have spent for the purchase of food products.  All donations received will be forwarded to the Mother of Mercy House.

Donations can be sent to the following address: Dawn Ellis | 980 Macoby Creek Way | Pennsburg, PA 18073

Message from Fr. Anthony

Dear Parishioners,

We are living in an anxious world. We are living in a world that very much needs to know that Christ in present among us. During this time of unknown hardship, our parish continues to be a source of love and support by making Christ’s presence known through prayer and private daily Mass. Beginning this Sunday we will be livestreaming our Sunday Masses.

As you can imagine our parish financial needs will continue during this challenging time. Our utility bills and many other expenses will not cease. For those whose means will allow, this may be a good time to consider Online Giving. In addition, if you contribute using envelopes, your continued support through regular collections is appreciated. You may mail your donations to the parish office or place them in the box near the altar on Sunday mornings until the celebration of public Mass resumes.

You may also make contributions without setting up an account securely through this PayPal link.

I am truly grateful for your generous support and prayerful contributions. May the Lord continue to bless us and give us peaceful souls and good health in these difficult times.

God’s Peace,

Fr. Anthony

Cancellations due to the coronavirus

Due to concerns of the coronavirus, the following changes are in place. Our primary concern is the safety of our parish and neighboring community.

UPDATE: Today, March 17th, the Archdiocese of Philadelphia announced that Archbishop Nelson J. Pérez has suspended all public Masses in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia effective at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 18th and until further notice.

Last week, the Archbishop dispensed the faithful from the obligation to attend Sunday Mass. Both decisions were made in response to the growing concern over the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) and the directives provided by government and health department officials at the local, state, and national levels. These measures will be re-evaluated pending future developments.

In accord with Governor Wolf’s directive, all other parish group gatherings are cancelled until April 1st or until further notice. This includes all events including Stations of the Cross, PREP classes, and Youth Ministry gatherings.

The following is a list of parish cancellations (if something is not listed, assume it is also canceled):

  • The Senior Group luncheon on March 25th
  • Come-n-Go Bingo on March 21st
  • The parish Lenten Fish Fry on March 20th and April 10th
  • Egg Hunt that was scheduled for April 4th
  • Bingo that was scheduled for April 5th

Please call the main parish number at 215-679-9275 to receive additional recorded updates over the next couple of weeks.

Please Note: Adoration Chapel is closed until further notice

The Adoration Chapel is now closed until further notice.

Watch Now: Sunday Mass Video, March 22, 2020

During these unprecedented and uncertain times, we come to the Divine Liturgy to come ‘in union with the Divine’. The Holy Eucharist is the source and summit of our salvation.

Act of Spiritual Communion
My Jesus,
I believe that You
are present in the Most Holy Sacrament.
I love You above all things,
and I desire to receive You into my soul.
Since I cannot at this moment
receive You sacramentally,
come at least spiritually into my heart.
I embrace You as if You were already there and unite myself wholly to You.
Never permit me to be separated from You.
Amen.
