Seeking Friendly Visitors

The Friendly Visitor Ministry is a Social Service Program which began August 2001.

Our F.V. call on the homebound either at their residence, in their independent living facility, or in a Nursing Home.

There are several active Visitors in our parish who live the Gospel by visiting lonely parishioners on a weekly; bi-weekly or monthly schedule – whatever is appropriate and convenient for them.

We would like to have more Visitors!  If this type of ministry sounds appealing to you, please consider calling the Parish Outreach Office Coordinator, Joan Lampart at 215.679.9275.  We will be happy to answer your questions.

For more information, please visit the Friendly Visitor page.

SPN Senior Club News – December Christmas Lunch

The SPN Senior Club held its monthly gathering on Wednesday, December 13th with 108 attending. Christmas was definitely in the air as the hall and tables were beautifully decorated to celebrate the holiday.

The St. Philip Neri senior parishioners were treated to a delicious meal and were entertained by the ‘Seraphims’ children’s choir from St. Mary’s Catholic School in Schwenksville. This 4th through 8th grade children’s choir is under the direction of Jane Widemeyer, Music Director/Music Teacher at the school. The children provided us with holiday songs and a little humor. As usual, they were a big hit and everyone enjoyed their performance.

The December birthday winner was Tony Gilmartin and Mary Goodfellow won the 50/50 drawing.

Our next gathering will be Wednesday, January 24, 2018. We hope you can join us for a Super Bowl Party. Maybe our favorite local team will be in the big game! More information is in the Parish bulletin so don’t forget to make your reservation.

SPN Senior Club Summer Picnic Wrap-Up

On Wednesday, July 26th, the SPN Senior Cub held its annual summer picnic. Hamburgers, hot dogs and a selection of salads and desserts were available. Kudos to John Johnson and Frank Kendra who served as our grill masters! Also, thank you to everyone who donated desserts. They are always welcome and much appreciated.

We continued the Parish Ministry series with Mary Goodfellow speaking to us about Bereavement; Dawn Ellis and Pat Loy talked about the Prayer Shawl Ministry and Joan Lampart gave an overview of Martha Ministry and our own Senior Cub.

The July birthday winner was Rosalie Sine. Ted Rutkowski won the 50/50 and Alice Swift was the winner of the door prize.

Come and join us for our Luau themed luncheon on Wednesday, August 23rd. See the flyer in the Parish Bulletin and don’t forget to make your reservation.
